Jack Grealish admitted he cannot explain Manchester City's collapses this season, after PSG came from behind to win 4-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Man City looked to be heading towards a crucial victory in the league stage when half-time substitute Grealish scored with his first touch, followed by Erling Haaland doubling the lead from close range in the 53rd minute.
The 2023 winners were stunned by PSG's enthusiastic comeback, with Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola scoring four minutes apart to draw the hosts level on the hour.
PSG completed the comeback with a Joao Neves header in the 78th minute, before Gonçalo Ramos scored the fourth in stoppage time.
Grealish admitted the result continued a trend in which Man City have failed to maintain winning positions on several occasions this season.
The winger questioned whether confidence had been a factor as Manchester City had comfortably retained their lead in recent seasons.
Jack Grealish admitted blowing leads has happened to Manchester City 'too many times' this season
PSG came back from two goals down to beat Man City 4-2 in the Champions League.
“I don't know, we're normally very good at these moments,” Grealish told TNT Sports.
“It has happened too many times this season, we won one or two goals, even three against Feyenoord, and we have not controlled the game or been able to see it.”
“It's strange because in other seasons we have been very good right now. I don't know if it's a question of confidence.
'Before Christmas we were not at the levels we know we can be. “It’s up to us to try to turn it around and try to win the game next week.”
'I don't know if it's a question of trust.
“We have so many players on the field who are very good at keeping the ball. We haven't been doing it recently, it depends on ourselves. Thanks to Paris, they were very energetic.
“They were a lot better than I thought, not in a bad way, they were a great team and they deserved to win.”
The defeat leaves Manchester City out of the Champions League play-off places after taking just eight points from seven games.
Grealish came off the bench to open the scoring, but Manchester City suffered a crucial defeat.
Pep Guardiola's team is two points behind four teams, including PSG, who occupy the last play-off positions.
The Premier League champion ends the league phase against Club Brugge and must beat the Belgian team to remain in the competition.
“We've had games like this in recent seasons, high-pressure games, so we'll need them,” Grealish said.
'Bruges have had good results in the Champions League this year. It's up to us, we're very good at home, we prepare for Chelsea at the weekend and then all eyes are on that.
