After blowing up the name of the biggest sports team in her own city, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker was able to earn redemption during a rally for the Eagles on Friday.
Parker went viral for his poor attempt at spelling the team's name, as he ended up spelling the word 'Eagles' as 'Elgse -s'.
She redeemed herself at an outdoor rally for Eagles fans held at Love Park in downtown Philadelphia before the team hosts the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game on Sunday.
'Now listen! Their smart mayor went out and got in trouble, 'everyone,' Parker joked to the crowd.
“I came out and we went viral,” the mayor added, receiving laughter and applause from the crowd.
'Just for the record, today, we have to show the nation that their mayor is a good student. So Philadelphia, are you ready to show your mayor?

The fans cheered and then loudly, and correctly, responded with the correct spelling.
After the rally, Parker spoke with NBC 10 Philadelphia and joked about his brief viral moment.
“I'll tell you this: If you didn't know who the mayor of Philadelphia was, you sure do now!” She joked with a journalist. 'And let's do everything we can to make sure we cheer our birds to victory.'
Fans in Philadelphia are taking on the height of their own mayor. As NBC 10 reported, t-shirts with the misspelling have been made for fans to purchase.
The Eagles are tasked with knocking off their NFC East rivals to seal a fifth trip to the Super Bowl in franchise history.
Currently, the team is just 1-3 in the big game in its entire history. Their only victory came in Super Bowl LII over the New England Patriots.
