Spectators killed
… hit with a hammer during the meeting

A 57-year-old man who watched his son at a track meeting was tragically killed when he was hit with a hammer during an event.
The terrible accident occurred on Sunday morning on the campus of the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs (UCCS), where athletes from all over the state started the high school athletes.
During the Hammer throwing event, the competitors throw a weighted ball (usually with a weight of £ 12 for boys in HS), which are attached to a handle with wire as far as possible.
UCCS said Wade Langstonwho was sitting in the stands. Colorado Springs first aiders arrived to provide help, but he was announced dead at the scene.
Langston supported his son, a student of Vista Ridge High School and a team member of Co United Track.
Since then, the team has canceled several exercises planned for this week.
“The Colorado United Track Club, our trainers and helpers want to express our deepest condolences to the Langston family if they navigate through the tragic loss of Wade Langston,” said the team.
“Please know that our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with this family and are not alone in their grief.”
