After spending his entire WNBA career with Phoenix Mercury, Brittney Griner has decided to change equipment and signed with Atlanta's dream in free agency, according to Alexa Philippou and Shams de ESPN.
Griner was first selected in general by Phoenix out of Baylor in the 2012 WNBA Draft and had remained there since then, becoming an accessory in the organization.
But now, the ten-time WNBA is in Georgia to play for sleep, joining stars like Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray.
His decision to sign the same day that Phoenix achieved an exchange of box office success.
Early in the day, Mercury acquired five times All Star Alyssa Thomas del Sol de Connecticut along with Ty Harris in exchange for Natasha Cloud, Rebecca Allen and the general selection of 2025 No. 12.
Griner's services were also under consideration with Las Vegas Aces, according to Ramona Shelburn de ESPN.
But after exchanging the star guard Kelsey Plum to the storm of Seattle in exchange for the guard Jewell Loyd, Las Vegas decided to consider other options.
