Footy's worship hero, Zach Tuohy, has declared that he will not spend much time until an AFL player feels comfortable enough to go publicly as gay.
Tuohy, who retired last season after 288 career games with Carlton and then Geelong, is a current conviction of today's stars.
“I can only say that at this time in the game or in the game I left … it feels like an extremely sure place for someone to come out,” Tuohy told Cam Mates when they appeared in I'M to Celebrity ….
“Certainly in any of the clubs for which I have played … teammates would protect them at all costs and tell them that they are proud of them and love them.
'So it will come soon. And every time they arrive for that player, they (teammates) will turn their backs.
Tuohy, an Irish import that won a prime minister with the Cats in 2022, added that the players should not feel that their sexuality would derail the approach of the game group.

“(Acceptance) is changing and changing,” said Tuohy.
AFL remains one of the only professional sports leagues in the world in not having active or even retired stars to publicly identify as gay or bisexuals.
The Nrl Ian Roberts executor confirmed that he was Gay in 1995, and Adelaide Footballer United Josh Cavallo did the same in 2021.
