Fiji Rugby Union Great Setefano 'Sete' Cakounivalu stayed fighting for his life in the hospital after the 46 -year -old player collapsed at the South Darwin Rugby Union Football Club House on Friday.
The front of the back row, which represented Fiji 7s between 2003 and 2008, suffered an alleged heart attack after a game against Casuarina.
He was urgently taken to the Royal Darwin hospital, where he remains on a vital support.
The members of the South Darwin Club, including the president of the Tauraa Exham club, acted quickly to perform CPR that save lives for more than 15 minutes before emergency services arrived.
Thanks to the rapid response of the club, Cakounivalu was resurrected and stabilized.
He has shown signs of improvement in recent days, but remains in critical care.
Cakounivalu had previously captained the 7S team of Fiji and is also a beloved community leader in Darwin who helped grow the sport in the region.
He has worked as a support worker at NDIS helping children and has also worked as a support worker for school students.

Last year, the former Rugby star traveled to the Paris Olympic Games as part of the Fiji 7S team management team.
The members of the south of Darwin Rufc and the community in general have gathered to keep their family, and Exham had started a Gofundme page.
'It will be better to recover quickly!' The club president said Exham.
“We have been working with some of Australia's most remote communities to bring their children's training clinics, and he still has a job to do!”
The Gofundme page, entitled 'Hearts United for Sete: Give, Prey and Support, his family' has raised $ 17,541 since it was created.
Speaking on the fund collection page, Expham said: 'Seta has given rugby and its community, now it is our turn to give back. We join together to support him and his family in this critical moment.
When writing on the Gofundme page, Expham said: “Donations will ensure that the wife and children of Sete can concentrate on supporting it through their recovery, without worrying about financial charges that come with such an unexpected crisis.”

Expham also added that it was “incredibly proud” of how the community has gathered to support the former player's family.
“I am incredibly proud of how our community has joined, especially after the medical emergency of Sete,” he said.
'I have received calls from other clubs as soon as they realized the problem and it is the best of rugby union in general how we accompany ourselves.
“We can be quite fierce opponents in the countryside, but when something like this happens, it shows that we are a big family.”
