The two -time Dally M winner, Jarryd Hayne, is ready to make his return from the Rugby League after a seven -year parenthesis.
The former 34 -year -old NRL star will join the Magpies of Wentworthville in the Ron Massey Cup, a semi -professional competition that feeds the NSW Cup.
Hayne's return occurs after almost two years in jail passed for charges of sexual aggression, which were finally annulled by the Criminal Court of New Wales of the South in June 2024.
“We have thoroughly analyzed this before making the decision that Jarryd joins us,” said Magpies president Elias Kassab, to News Corp.
“Now it's a different person.”
Kassab said that the belief of the club in the second opportunities and highlighted the sincerity and will to have positively contributing to the game.

“We are happy that I can be playing for us and working with the little ones who get the qualifications,” Kassab said.
“Many people will have their opinions, but we know how sincere is Jarryd to want to give back the game in a positive way.”
Hayne's last NRL appearance was in 2018 with the Parramatta eels.
His career includes 191 NRL games, mainly with the eels, where he achieved the status of superstar as a fullback.
It remains to be seen if it will repeat that role with the Uracas.
“It would be 'for the coach' to decide if there is a Fullback,” Kassab said.
The Magpies, six times Prime Minister of the Ron Massey Cup, are anticipating a large crowd for Hayne's debut against Ryde-Eastwood on March 15 in Ringrose Park.
“That is our hope, that is what we are waiting for,” Kassab said.

“He has been training and knotting, I think he will be fit for that.”
Hayne's return to the Rugby League began with a brief appearance in a Nine Premier League tournament, where an injury in the hamstrings limited her game time.
His time with Fiji's coaching staff during the Pacific championships further solidified his desire to return to sport.
“Fiji was a turning point for me,” said Hayne before.
'You don't realize how much you miss it until you are close to that environment again.
“That leaned me to do it again and run with the boys and have fun.”
The Hayne Rugby League race has impressive achievements, including 214 NRL games, 121 attempts, 466 points, two Dally M medals (2009, 2014) and a key role in the final appearance of NRL NRL 2009 2009.
He also represented Nueva Wales del Sur in 23 games of the state of origin and played 12 tests for Australia.
