It is a movement that will see the chief of the Clarets, Scott Parker, after they crossed in Tottenham.
Edwards joined the Spurs Academy at age eight and signed his first professional agreement with them in 2016, but failed to make an appearance in the Premier League.
Parker spent two years in Tottenham between 2011 and 2013, during a period that Edwards still was part of the academy.
Burnley is chasing an instantaneous return to the Premier League this season, with the Clarets currently third in the championship.
Parker has already reinforced his team this month with the signings of Jonjo Shelvey, Ashley Barnes and Oliver Sonne.
