In the midst of Tom Brady's conflicting efforts as an NFL analyst for Fox and the Raiders minority owner, Commissioner Roger Goodell said that the former field marshal is not crossing any line while juggling with his two roles.
During the Super Bowl press conference on Monday, Goodell was asked why the NFL allowed Brady to have 'double roles'. In addition, the journalist asked if there was any concern about Brady to get an unfair advantage.
In response, Goodell highlighted how the seven -time Super Bowl 'calls' champion often calls things to ensure that things are going well.
'Well, I'm not sure how (I would get an unfair advantage) in that case, but allow me to start with the fact that everyone in the National Soccer League, staff owner, are still subject to manipulation rules and other policies Said Goodell.
“They are responsible for that behavior and they are all responsible for that,” he continued.
In Brady's case, Goodell added, 'special rules' were made to relieve property concerns. He also added how the League will consider whether it needs to add or subtract those rules in some way.
The NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, gave his verdict on the controversy of Tom Brady's 'double role'
“Tom has been incredibly cooperative,” continued the commissioner. 'He calls frequently and says:' Am I okay? 'And I think it takes to make sure that it separates these two and does not put the league or anyone in a conflict position.
Brady's minority participation in the franchise was approved by the owners of the NFL in the autumn of 2024.
The offer was green, understanding that Brady cannot attend transmission production meetings in person or online and cannot obtain access to equipment facilities, coaches or players, while on the clock for Fox.
Another network personnel are not subject to these guidelines.
Brady is also obliged to follow the constitution of the League and the statutes that “prohibit public criticism for officials and other clubs, but it is allowed to convey the Raiders games,” according to the NFL.
In the midst of the controversy, it was said that Brady was very involved in the recent hiring of Pete Carroll's assailants as a chief coach. Las Vegas also hired John Spytek as his general manager while they seek to rebuild from a 4-13 season.
