The four -time winner of the AFL prime minister, Jordan Lewis, had a close call on Friday when an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed into his luxury vehicle in Melbourne while having lunch with friends.
Lewis was selected by Hawthorn with the seventh selection in the 2004 National Draft, he was a key midfielder in his prime minister victories in 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
In 2017, Lewis transferred to Melbourne, where he played until his retirement in 2019. He has worked as a media personality since then.
The incident began when two teenagers, driving a stolen white sub -Subaru, allegedly threatened two drivers with an ax in separate attempts at car theft.
The couple stopped for the first time behind a BMW, where one of them came out and threatened the driver, who managed to escape.
Moments later, they allegedly tried to get a man out of his black Mercedes outside the Rising Sun hotel, but failed.

The teenagers had allegedly stole a vehicle and crashed at Richmond before going on foot
The alleged criminals crashed into a Holden Barina who later crashed into Lewis's vehicle
Then, the teenagers accelerated Church St, lost control and crashed into a parked Barina, causing their car to turn and collide with Lewis's parked vehicle.
They fled the scene, but the public members restricted them until the police arrived. Both teenagers have been arrested and accused by the police.
Lewis said he was lucky that the incident occurred as he had lunch and did not return to his vehicle.
“I was lunch and I returned and I saw a car turned to the side of the road next to my car, which has obviously damaged my car,” he said.
'That's all, I had a luck of not having been there.
“It seemed that the axis had been broken, the front axle … how your day takes a turn.”
The Holden driver was not injured.

An 18 -year -old Ringwood man was arrested and taken to the hospital under police guard.
A 15 -year -old Trarralgon boy was arrested and detained.
One of the men who chased criminals spoke with News Corp about their search.
“My brother and I were here in Church St. We have a tile shop here and we were talking on the front and we heard a strong blow to the street,” 3AW Felgate told Jacqui Felgate.
'We went out and saw the white SUV turned sideways. From there we thought it was a pretty bad accident and we saw two gentlemen to jump on the driver's side and start running through Church St.
'My brother and I looked at each other and we knew exactly what was happening … and he said' let's look for them '.
“We reach KFC on Swan St and we managed to corner them in the entrance area.”
The man said they ran after the teenagers for more than a kilometer and more locals joined them while running.
“Because we are a local business while we were directing, I was seeing people I knew and who was calling 'giving us a hand' and they also jumped,” he said.
'We knew that the more we were, the safer I was going to make the arrest.
“We just sit down and the police arrived quite fast.”
