A West Ham United shirt used by former club legend and winner of the England World Cup, Bobby Moore, has been auction for an enormous sum of five figures.

The shirt, which is from the mid -1960s, was sold to a fan who was 12 years old at that time called Colin Fitzgerald.

They gave it the then Groundsman of the Hammers for two chelines and six pence, half of a crown, which would cost only £ 1.25 today.

Now, Colin's brother, Pete, is selling the piece of memories used by the legendary central of three lions to help his brother buy a house.

Moore is still the only captain of England in lifting the World Cup, doing it in 1966 along with West Ham Geoff's colleagues and Martin Peters.

After making 544 appearances for the Irons throughout a 16 -year -old stay in East London, Moore moved to Fulham before finishing his career in the United States.

Moore died at the age of 51 in 1993 after a long battle against cancer.

The auction for its long -sleeved shirt now is carried out in line with the Stacey's company, based in Essex, with the shirt that will be sold by the a whopping of £ 18,000.

Expert Dave Davies said The sun: 'This is a jewel of finding. I hope it goes through more than £ 10,000 and this is the first time I've seen a real Bobby Moore West Ham t -shirt.

'But it could be much higher. The theories about the whereabouts of their missing England shirt make it even more valuable for a generation of fans who think that Bobby is perhaps the best defender in history.

'Other shirts used by famous players such as Eric Cantona, George Best and Gazza have gone to great prices, so this could reach tens of thousands.

“If there are more than once the collection offer dedicated to it, its value could rise.”

Dave Alexander, from Football Wanhed, who is helping with the auction, said: “The authenticity of this shirt is insurmountable, and the price could go through the roof.”
