- McTominay played United for more than 20 years before leaving in summer
- He has shone with Napoli while United continues to fight in front of the goal
- Listen now: Everything is starting! Does Premier League really need to look at goal celebrations?
The former Manchester United midfielder, Scott McTominay, now has more league goals this season than Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee combined, can be revealed.
McTominay spent more than two decades playing for United from the academy to the first team, making more than 250 appearances before leaving his childhood club for Italy in the summer.
The 28 -year -old joined Napoli in an agreement of £ 25.7 million in the transfer window, and has come alive there as a water duck. Given the license to wander from the center of the field, he has scored seven times in 23 games in all competitions.
His strike against Udinese in the series on Sunday took its total league for the season to six: the goals that United could do at this time. Ruben Amorim continues to look for a solution to your team's score problems, but one has not yet found one.
Hojlund and Zirkzee have fought for the shape in united colors. The first arrived in an agreement of £ 72 million in the summer of 2023, scoring 23 times in 74 games since then, while Zirkzee has found the network five times in 36 games since its summer arrival.
When it comes to the action of the league, meanwhile, McTominay is, this year, of course. Zirkzee has three attacks by the Premier League in his name, while Hojlund has two this season, an uncomfortable appearance for United.

The head of United, Ruben Amorim, continues to look for solutions to the goals of his team
After starting the injured season, Hojlund found the background of the network in his second start of the campaign in the league. The Danish scored the winner in the 2-1 victory over Brentford in October after Ethan Pinnock had canceled Alejandro Garnacho's first game.
He was trusting that Erik Ten Hag, and then Amorim, he fought in front of the goal. His strike in the 3-2 defeat of Nottingham Forest was a consolation, and has not scored in the nine games since then.
Zirkzee, meanwhile, put a steering wheel after his arrival of £ 36.5 million in the summer, obtaining the only goal of the Red Devils of his 1-0 victory on the opening day over Fulham.
Then, however, he did not score for 11 more games until an orthopedic device against Everton in early December, and has not scored since then.
Amorim has gone as far as trying Kobbie Mainoo in advance to find a solution: play a graduate midfielder from the academy there instead of more than 100 million in strikers. McTominay, ironically, is also a graduated midfielder from the academy.
The Scottish is in a race for the title and in the center of the Antonio Conte system. If United has not moved, it could have been a key gear for what Amorim is trying to do.
