Why Kiwi's long duration joke will not get in the path of trans-tasman rivalry with the Wallabies recruiting Joseph Suaalii

  • Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii and Ruben Love are good friends
  • Both players have also shared a rivalry since 2019

The creator of games of all blacks and hurricanes, Ruben Love, says he is anxious to be even with the good friend Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii when the Waratah play Wellington in the seven round.

Love and Suaalii coincided with each other in the wing in 2019 when the U18 Australian team beat the New Zealand schools.

“That was difficult,” said love Wide sports world.

'I remember that. He played very well. They had another end on the other side that now plays for Manly, (Tolu) Kouula, who was also incredible.

'We marked among us. He (Suaalii) put me in that game. I missed him and my friends still send me that video. But yes, since then we grew that relationship and approach.

Both players, now two of the most talented young stars in Rugby, showed an exceptional ability in other sports, with the love that represents New Zealand for Cricket in 2019.

“There have been many messages that support and congratulating each other,” said Love.

'But I think it will be very different when we play one against the other this year. It would be great, man, if we face the Wallabies and all blacks, as we did in 2019 for the juniors.

We are both extremely proud of each other. Only two friends chasing your dreams, I suppose.

The couple has remained in contact over the years and progressed, with Suaalii even inviting Kiwi to stay at home while love was in Sydney in 2023.

Suaalii was acclaimed as a 'monster' by his teammates after winning the party man in his impressive debut in Wallabies, but Love was not surprised at all.

“Na – it's a strange athlete brother,” said Love.

'He has a mind for rugby and be able to manipulate defenders. So, seeing him play as he did was not a surprise and it's just a matter of time before he does even greater things.

Suggestions for evidence that it is the new face of the Australian rugby, Suaalii cannot wait for the season to begin so that he can let his football literally speak.

“Only rugby game and that's what I do,” he said.

'And I love playing rugby. I really don't see many of the external things.

'I would not say that I am the greatest talkative. I don't say too much. This is probably the maximum that I will talk about this day, doing press.

'So I don't say too much. I simply do my job. I love talking in the rugby field because you have to have that.

“But otherwise I don't speak too much.”

The Super Rugby season begins on Friday.
