Long Data Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley will resign at the end of AFL 2025 and will deliver Senior Assistant Josh Carr.
The power confirmed the succession plan on Wednesday, with Carr to take the reins of Hinkley, who is out of contract at the end of the season, in a three -year contract of 2026.
“Ken has had open communications with the club during the preseason and confirmed that 2025 would be his last season as a senior coach of Port Adelaide,” said President David Koch.
'As is his way, Ken has put the club first to recognize that we have a coach waiting at Josh Carr, who will be prepared to lead the club in 2026.
“Without a doubt, Ken is the senior coach for this season.”
Hinkley has been a port coach since 2013, taking seven series of finals to the club in 12 seasons and playing a crucial role in its appearance of the AFL crisis.

But a prime minister has proven to be elusive, and Port does not go beyond a preliminary final under his watch, although the club has constantly supported him when he is under pressure.
“I still have a burning wish to lead this club in 2025,” said Hinkley.
'I am fresh and recharged and I have the privilege of leading a very motivated game and training group.
'But at the end of the season, it will be time to deliver the baton to Josh, who would have experienced an additional growth of 12 months as a senior assistant. Without a doubt, Josh will be ready to train in his own right.
Car will continue as coach of the center of the field this season before intensifying.
“While it is an honor to have been appointed the next senior coach of Port Adelaide, my approach at this time is to support Ken, the other coaches and players the best I can, since we fight for success this season,” he said.
Port Adelaide opens its season to Collingwood at the MCG on March 15.
