Pat Mahomes SR and John Rocker were officially prepared to fight, confirms Dave Portnoy after the New Orleans confrontation

Pat Mahomes SR and John Rocker will officially face the ring, Dave Portnoy confirmed.

Confirmation follows an explosive report by Dailymail.com that declared that old baseball stars were prepared to fight each other in one of Barstool Sports '' Rough N 'Rowdy' promotions.

Portnoy confirmed on Wednesday that the fight, called 'Beef on Bourbon Street' after its confrontation of New Orleans, will lead its April 19 card in Wheeling, Western Virginia.

“I think they hated themselves from their game days, baseball,” Portnoy said. I mean, I guess it's not surprising. Everyone has beef with John Rocker.

Then he insisted that the fight would not be a repetition of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson because there is very bad blood between the two.

In a video that went viral on Tuesday night and seems to have been taken at some point during the week of the Super Bowl, Mahomes SR, 54, and Rocker, 50, were seen facing the street.

The two seemed to try to attack physically before being separated by spectators. A person seemed to recognize the rocker. When Mahomes SR was remote, Rocker threw his ice -full cup before leaving.

Hours after the clip went viral, Mohomes SR took out a tweet, saying: “John Rocker is a threat to society.”

However, Portnoy rose by admitting that the street confrontation was organized to promote the fight.

“It is honestly a madness to insinuate that we would organize a fight in Bourban Street to promote a fight that was announced a couple of days later,” he published in X, previously known as Twitter. 'I am offended, good lord!'

Mahomes SR was in the city to see his son, the field marshal of the Kansas City bosses, Patrick Mahomes, playing at the Super Bowl Lix against the Filadelphia Eagles, a game that the chiefs finally lost.

Portnoy also took the opportunity to hit the person he called, who is famous is not a barstool fan.

'Well, now your father fights in our company against John Rocker. So I'll keep a seat. Free, 'he added.

Rocker and Mahomes SR were members of rival teams in the 1999 and 2000 seasons, with rockers in the Braves and Mahomes SR in the Mets.

Mahomes SR played for the last time in baseball in 2003 for Pittsburgh pirates, but in recent times the headlines has reached for all wrong reasons.

He was arrested for drunk driving in 2008, 2019 and 2024, and last year he was prohibited from driving after being found on the roads without a valid license.

He spent 10 days in jail and is now under an 'intense supervision' in his first year of probation.

Rocker is also known for his controversies. In a 1999 interview with Jeff Pearlman by Sports Illustrated, Rocker made a series of racist and homophobic statements in a very publicized and discussed interview.

The rocker, who was with the Atlanta braves at that time, called his teammate from Cuacaoan Randall Simon a 'fat monkey' and used racial stereotypes towards Asian women who drive on the road.

When Pearlman asked him if he would ever play for the New York Yankees or the New York Mets, Rocker gave an infamous appointment that called him “the most agitated and stressful city” and that would retire before playing there.

'Imagine having to take train 7 to the baseball stadium (Shea Stadium, former Mets home). It seems that you are riding through Beirut with a child with purple hair, next to a while with AIDS, right next to a guy who had just left jail for the fourth time, right next to a 20 -year -old mother With four children. It is depressing.

Rocker added: 'The most important thing I don't like from New York are foreigners. You can walk a whole block on Times Square and not listen to anyone speaking English. Asians and Koreans, Vietnamese and Indians, Russians and Spanish and everything there. How Devils entered this country?

The MLB commissioner, Bud Selig, suspended the rocker without paying the entire spring training, as well as the first 28 games of the 2000 season. After an appeal, the season suspension was reduced to 14 games.

Rocker's comments did not work well with Mets fans, with whom Rocker already had a controversial relationship. In another part of Pearlman's piece, the pitcher referred to Mets fans as 'degenerated'.

In addition to his controversial comments, both made in Pearlman's piece and in multiple cases years later, Rocker admitted to having used steroids during his career, saying: 'Yes, of course he was (using steroids). I mean, who is not? Let's be honest here, who doesn't?

Mahomes SR was seen throughout the week and its surroundings of New Orleans before the great game.

He was seen in a casino in the city on Thursday night, along with his ex -wife Randi and his son Jackson.
