English football is scheduled to finally introduce out of automated cars, with the technology that will be used for the first time in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
It is said that technology, which was used in the 2022 World Cup and is part of the Champions League, improves the speed and efficiency of the offside process.
Its introduction in England has been continuously delayed, but now it is tested in the next stage of the FA Cup, before being used in the Premier League at the end of this season.
The technology will be part of the widest use of VAR in the FA Cup, with the system established in the eight draws in the fifth round after it was not used in the third or fourth round.
As part of a broader use of VAR, the referees must also provide ads in the stadium that explain the decisions that came after a review.
A FA statement said: 'The video assistant referees (VAR) will be active in the eight ties of the Fifth Round of the Fa Emirates Cup this season.
'This will include VAR ads in the stadium, where party officials will announce their final decision in relation to the incidents reviewed to provide greater clarity and understanding for spectators and spectators.
'The fifth round will also use semi -automatized off -game technology in the seven games that take place in the Premier League stadiums, which is the first time it will be used live in competitive matches in English football.
“The new technology will be introduced into the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup, in collaboration with the Premier League and the Limited Professional Game Games officers (PGMol), after an extensive test period that has taken place during the season 2024-25.
They continued: 'After a successful live operation in the Emirates FA Cup, the Premier League will seek to implement the system at the end of this season.
'Semi -automatized off -game technology will provide a more efficient placement of the virtual offline, based on the follow -up of optical players, and produce virtual graphics to guarantee an improved experience in the stadium and transmission for the followers.
“The operation of semi -automatized off -play technology does not change the accuracy of decision making, but improves the speed and efficiency of the process.”
The introduction of technology was approved by the Premier League clubs in April 2024 and had been presented after one of the international windows of this autumn.
October had originally been seen as the most likely date, but now it is surely to pass, and it may not be ready in mid -November and could enter the winter.
The league bosses sought to 'manage expectations' on the release date between clubs at a meeting held in downtown London on Thursday, with tests in the current system.
The League believes that technology could accelerate the length of the Var average verification for the offside in 31 seconds.
