Arsenal striker Kai Hvertz has broken his silence after suffering an injury that ends the season.
Havertz will miss the rest of the campaign after suffering an injury in the hamstrings during a training camp in the United Arab Emirates, as the Mail Sport first reported it.
The German successfully submitted surgery on Saturday and will begin a recovery program that will run to the preseason.
Hvertz posted on social networks: 'The last days have been difficult to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful OP and a victory '
'Thank you for all the messages of support in recent days, it has really helped.
“Now I am concentrated on my trip to full aptitude and providing all the support I can give to the background team.”

Havertz's injury has left Arsenal with only three form in the form of Leandro Trosssard, Ethan Nwaneri and Raheem Sterling.
However, it was Mikel Merino who proved to be the hero in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Leicester, with the Spanish leaving the bank to score a late optical device.
The midfielder said: “He (Mikel Arteta) told me to enter as a striker this morning. We were talking about that a little with one of the attendees. It is the first time in my career that I have played that position.
“He told me to go with my strengths and fortunately I could help the team with two goals today.”
Arteta explained his decision to play Merino as a striker, saying: 'I did not think about him, to be fair. It was a lot of debate. I didn't want to go crazy. I told him this morning that I could play there, we believe he could sit there if the game would need the context. He won the game for us.
'But Mikel has that. It is a good threat because it can smell danger. He can anticipate the action. It has a very good time to reach certain areas.
'And then, obviously, he has the ability to execute with many parts of his body. And I needed delivery. He certainly also had that and put it at the bottom of the network.
