Rory Mcilroy furiously told a fan who “closed the shit” after he was off in San Diego on Sunday.
The Northern Irishman lost a 10 -foot Putt Birdie in the third hole of the final round in invitational Genesis.
It was the beginning of a frustrating day for Mcilroy, who finally finished nine blows behind the winner Ludvig Aberg after a final round of 72.
After missing the putt, a fan was heard shouting: 'blame for your caddie'.
To which Mcilroy instantly responded: 'Close the shit'.
Mcilroy's caddie and best friend, Harry Diamond, generated criticism for the end of last season in the middle of a recession in the form.

He also added: 'Someone told me once, if you never take the advice of these people, you wouldn't take their criticisms. He would certainly not go to Hank Haney to obtain advice.
