Kane Curnes is aware that he is not the favorite commentator of many Footy fans, and so it is as he likes.

The highly polarizing star, 42, has jumped the ship in the low season from channel nine to rivals seven, and is prepared to express its straight brand opinions recorded in 2025.

If people are enraged, so it is, that is the style without cornes complexes.

Simply ask the former teammate of Port Adelaide, Josh Carr, who will replace Ken Hinkley in the hot seat next season.

Cornes won a flag with Car in 2004, but argues that his former teammate is not the answer as a chief coach.

“I loved playing with him, but I think Port has made the wrong call,” he said News Corp.

'It's nothing against Josh … but I wouldn't have made that call.

“I don't know what he thinks, I've tried to call him … but he hasn't yet returned my call, so he could give him an indication.”

It is not the first time that Curnes, the best described as assertive, has bothered an AFL identity.

The list is long, including the Legend of Collingwood Dane Swan and the Richmond Matthew Richardson icon.

Even former Travis Boak teammate was not impressed after Curnes questioned the professionalism of Carlton Charlie Curnow's star in 2020.

And more recently, Cornes has changed the spikes with Port Ruckman Ivan Soldo.

But Cornes, who played 300 games for Port Adelaide, has a thick skin.

In twice the entire Australian player, the former midfielder knows that being controversial is what keeps him relevant.

And it will be busy this season: Curnes will present on Thursday night football for seven, as well as Monday and Tuesday, where it will be the main act of 'The Agenda Setters'.

Cornes will also continue presenting Sen Morning on Mondays and Fridays and will appear in Sportsday with Gerard Healy when time allows.

He has bought an apartment in Melbourne to help with the travel load.

All this from a former leg star who cut his teeth through training at the Adelaide 5AA radio station during his AFL debut season in 2001.

Finally, he moved to full -time media in 2016, with the tastes of Sen Craig Hutchison a remarkable fan.

Television continued and now depends on cornes fighting the public of Cannel 9 and Fox Footy in what is coming as its greatest challenge.

And in terms of the many keyboard warriors on social networks, Curnes does not worry what he cannot control.

The 2025 season of the AFL begins on March 6 when the ministers of the Ministers Brisbane Geelong in the Gabba.
