Nigel Mansell insists that what he would love to see in Formula One season would be Lewis Hamilton winning the F1 World Championship with Ferrari.
And the former world champion emphasized that Ferrari is “a long time ago” to win the championships of the pilots and the builders. His last driver title arrived in 2007 with Kimi Raikkonen and 'The Prancing Horse' won the title of builders in 2008.
Speaking to Mail Sport on the F175 red carpet in London, Mansell, who once led by Ferrari, said: 'It would be a dream come true for Lewis to win the first race with Ferrari because that then sets the pattern for the rest of the station .
Mansell is still the last British pilot to win a Formula 1 career while driving for Ferrari and added:
'Ferrari is very late to win the pilot and builders championship, so with Charles Leclerc and Lewis (Hamilton), I really hope they do it. It would be magical for Lewis to win another world championship and I wish you all the best.
And Mansell, 71, emphasized that he cannot wait to see the competitiveness that the new season brings, when he begins in Australia on March 16.

The 1992 world champion, Nigel Mansell, is prepared for an exciting formula a 2025 season

Lewis Hamilton, 40, has joined Ferrari in his search to win an eighth world title

Max Verstappen of Red Bull will be the man to win, but Mansell expects a competitive season
“The exciting thing about F1 in 2025 is that Max (Verstappen) will not go to Red Bull,” Mansell said.
'I heard that Red Bull has done a good job with the car during the winter. McLaren was outstanding last year and if they acted together a little earlier, they could have won the championship (of the pilots) so that both Lando (Norris) and (Oscar) Piestri will be challenging.
'And, of course, you should not forget Mercedes with George Russell. Toto Wolff is not there to invent the numbers. We have four fantastic teams and an incredible 2025 to wait.
