Lebron James This year, his own powerboat racing team of the E1 series has just started … and one of his drivers believes that the commitment of the NBA superstar will lure a whole new audience for the emerging sport.
The Los Angeles Lakers Champ announced its investment in water sports on January 23 … with the announcement that the alula team will join Tom BradyPresent Will SmithAnd others in the E1 All-Electric Powerboat Racing series for the 2025 season.
His team comprises two drivers – Catie MunningWho is also a rally driver and Rusty WyattPresent Who told us that he is part of James' crew.
Wyatt, who has been working in Speed boats since he was 12, is also pleased for the European league, which was started in 2024, and believes that the presence of the four-time NBA MVP will draw more attention to a relatively new competition.
“Everything LeBron does, people will follow,” said Wyatt. “He is such an icon for so many different people.”
In view of King James' busy NBA time plan, Wyatt could not meet him yet … but hopes to do this in one of the races, especially at the big event in Miami later this year.
The two -time high point champion said that he would like to give Bron a joyride in one of the powerboats … although it depends on whether it can fit.
