Río Ferdinand has risk an additional reaction from Liverpool fans by insisting that Ibrahima Konate should have been expelled in the 1-0 victory of the Reds over the PSG on Wednesday.
Konate was caught on the wrong side of Bradley Barcola when he went to the goal in the 25th minute, and seemed to break the striker into the back.
The referee exhausted PSG's appeals for a foul, and the incident was clear by VAR after a long check to see if the last man's challenge was worthy of a red card.
Ferdinand was in co-commentary for TNT sports, and admitted that he was baffled by how Konate had escaped punishment, but most Liverpool fans did not agree and resorted to social networks to criticize Manchester United's legend.
After looking back in Konate's challenge from the game, Ferdinand is still convinced that the French defender was lucky enough not to see red.
