Jamie Carragher has affirmed that Ruben Amorim is 'drowning' in Manchester United, and believes that players are already losing faith in the Portuguese chief coach.
Amorim was brought to replace Erik Ten Hag in November and arrived with a reputation as one of the best young managers in Europe after winning two league titles with Lisbon Sporting in Portugal.
But he has won only five of his first 16 League games and Fulham left the United FA Cup last weekend.
Amorim has insisted on keeping his favorite training 3-4-3, but his stubbornness has not yet paid dividends, and Carragher suggested that the 40-year-old can already be borrowed only four months after his reign of Old Trafford.
Writing in its weekly column for The telegraphCarragher said: 'This is the worst team of the United of my life and the minimum that could have been expected after Amorim took over, that the team would seem that they are being trained better than was less than ten hag, it has not materialized.
'United players have not responded well to their methods. Have you seen a single player better than I had less than ten hag?

Liverpool's legend feels that Amorim has not improved a single United player since he arrived

Carragher has put United players, claiming that they are currently the worst team he has seen in Old Trafford
“It is sinking or swimming into one of the world's largest clubs, and Amorim is drowning in the waves of mediocrity.”
Carragher pointed out how several other first -level managers have changed the fortune of his team after joining in difficult circumstances in recent years.
The Liverpool legend highlighted the success that David Moyes, Oliver Glasner, Nuno Espirito Santo, Unai Emery and Eddie Howe have had in their respective clubs, while Amorim has not been able to solve their players.
Carragher also praised the work done by Mikel Arteta in Arsenal, and admitted that he expected Amorim to have a similar impact on United when he took charge at the end of 2024.
United will be the host of Arteta Arsenal on Sunday, with an exhausted time to rescue the positive aspects of a sad 2024-25 campaign.
Amorim seems to have the support of fans and United's board for now, but Carragher warned that this could soon change if the results and performance do not begin to improve.
“At this time, United fans should feel that they are fixing their hopes in the blind faith based on the love record in Sporting Lisboa,” Carragher added.
'They are the followers and executives that Amorim really should worry. They will have a term in mind for United to return to the top. They may have calculated to step back before they can imagine jumping forward. What they would not have imagined is a side that is working so consistently bad.
