Crystal Palace 1-0 Ipswich: Ismaila Sarr scores at the end of the winner, since the hope of the premier league survival Ipswich suffer a blow

  • Ismaila Sar scored the winner in the 82nd minute while Crystal Palace beat Ipswich
  • Ipswich, which is in 18th place, now there are five points drifting from security
  • Listen now: Everything is starting! Is Alisson the best goalkeeper of the Premier League?

Eddie Nketiah blew his great opportunity, so it was thanks to God for Ismaila Sar in Crystal Palace, who inflicted another overwhelming blow to Ipswich with a late winner in Selhurst Park.

With descent rivals, wolves who play later in the day and the palace without the Talismán striker Jean-philippe Mateta, an window of opportunity for the tractors had been opened.

But after a brilliant beginning, they faded badly and although the palace looked without teeth with the ineffective Nketiah losing its best opportunity, Ipswich could not capitalize.

Manchester United is among the teams interested in Mateta and if this was a look at a possible without him for the Eagles, then it was quite bleak.

But a late pressure wave finally said and Sarr finally surpassed them with just over eight minutes to the end, scoring their seventh goal of the season.

Mateta scored the winner in the reverse accessory in Portman Road in December.

But with the French out of action after being brutally kicked in the head by Millwall goalkeeper, Liam Roberts, it was Eddie Nketiah who led the line for Palace.

And Nketiah should have scored in two minutes when Adam Wharton played it with a charming ball.

But the old Arsenal vanished as he bored in Alex Palmer and the Ipswich goalkeeper ended up blocking his shot.

Dean Henderson then diving to deny Jaden Phylogene at the other end, before a last block of Jacob Greaves denied Eberrechi Eze a certain goal.

Coincidence

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Henderson 7; Richards 6, Lacroix 6, Guy 5; Minute 6.5, Wharton 6 (Accrveny 87), Lerma 5, Mitchell 6 (Chilwell 71); Salvador 7, Eze 5 (See 90); NKAYAH 4 (litter 72).

Henderson again did well when Julio Enciso embarrassed Marc Guehi to shoot in a shot in the middle of the first half.

Ipswich survived a scare when Leif Davis fell hard after an air collision with Daniel Muñoz, but finally stood after a long treatment.

Eze almost scored a comic goal at the beginning of the second half when his cross got up from Dara O'Shea and beat Palmer just to reach the distant post.

But Ipswich should have done it better at a fast break when Jack Clarke ran clearly, but a poor ball played Liam Delap, who had to get out of his feet before shooting Henderson directly.

Ismaila Sarr cleaned her own delap Goalline, before Eze tried Palmer with a deviant shot and Sarr headed from a corner.

Ipswich once again had to thank Palmer for keeping them in him when he made a brilliant salvation to deny Daniel Muñoz with 12 minutes to the end.

But it did not last, and it was Sarr who finally broke the point, jumping too easily and making the ball on the rolling palmer.

Ipswich pressed as strong as they could for a draw, but it was not so, and now they have taken only two points of a possible 27 this calendar year. Bleak.
