After the lions could not deploy their prime minister flag to their fans last week in the Gabba due to Ciclón Alfred, the team is ready to launch its 2025 AFL season this Saturday against Sydney.
But the club is still sailing through multiple logistics obstacles, it has not trained since last Wednesday.
Cyclone Alfred has wreaked havoc in Queensland during the past week, bringing generalized floods and winds of 120 km/h, which forces some schools and businesses to close.
More than 200,000 properties were left without energy at a stage during the weekend, according to Prime Minister David Crisafulli, and Queensland Ses received a record of 3,676 calls for assistance in the last 24 hours.
Fortunately, the Lions confirmed on Monday that their training base in Springfield Central had suffered 'minimum' damage, but they have not been able to train since last Wednesday.
It is understood that the coaches of the lions, the staff and the players have regrouped and have chosen to travel to Nueva Wales del Sur earlier than expected to give the “best preparation” for their match against Sydney on Saturday.

Brisbane Lions has confirmed that they will go to Sydney on Wednesday to prepare for his party against the Swans

The AFL chose to postpone the shock of the Brisbane Lions Opening Round against Geelong last week due to Ciclón Alfred

Queensland's areas have been left underwater in the last four days, due to serious floods
It comes when football general manager Danny Daly said the field in the Gabba and in the Brighton Homes sand training is in certain areas.
But he was hope that the club could hold a training session on Tuesday in Brisbane before leaving Sydney on Wednesday.
'Unfortunately, these things happen in life, and you only need to be resistant, be calm about it and advance through it. So, I certainly have doubts that our preparation will be right to take our game against Sydney, “Daly said.
'We have the players in the club today (Monday) and they will have a bit of success inside to get up and go up again.
'We have been chatting with AFL today and have been fantastic throughout this past week to accommodate our needs and everything we needed to do.
'We will train somewhere tomorrow, be it the Gabba or Brighton Homes Arena, which are quite flooded in the minute as you can imagine.
“We will go to Sydney on Wednesday and then we will receive training somewhere on Thursday in a dry field as a preparation for the game on Saturday, so we are working on all logistics.”
The AFL had chosen to postpone the clash of the opening round of the Lions against Geelong on Thursday due to the nature of the storm, with the league leaders confirming that the game will be rescheduled to play in the three round on Saturday, March 29.

The Gold Coast Titans Training Center in Parkwood has flooded, and the team is also directed south to Nueva Wales del Sur
Meanwhile, the League is to confirm when Gold Coast's postponed clash will take place against Essendon, but it is expected to take place at the end of the 2025 season and out of the season.
“First, on behalf of the football club, I hope that everyone in Queensland and Nueva Gales del Sur are safe and well and we all pray for you,” Daly added.
'To make sure everyone is well and solid, that is the first priority for us, the human element of it. Then, once he takes care of himself, look at the football side and find a way to deal with that and continue with him.
“Last week it has been very unprecedented and not for what we had planned, but these things happen occasionally, unfortunately, we are grateful that everyone has been able to overcome it so far.”
The lions's decision to move to Sydney this week occurs since the Gold Coast Titans have also been forced to leave their Parkwood training base to travel to Nueva Gales del Sur, after it had been surprised less than two meters of water.
The club faces the Bulldogs of Canterbury this week and was expected to go to Sydney on Tuesday.
