After more than a decade in advance, heated exchanges and stagnant negotiations, a confrontation between Paul Gallen and Sonny Bill Williams is now closer than ever.
The NRL Paul Gallen legend and the Sonny Bill Williams cross code superstar are prepared to pocket more than one million dollars in the planned heavyweight confrontation by 2025, with the current objectives that the fight is celebrated in a Brisbane or Sydney stadium.
Gallen has confirmed that he has agreed to get out of retirement to fight the old All Black, and told Wide World of Sports that the conversations between both parties have been operating since January.
A source close to the Gallen camp told News Corp that the adhesion point at this time is the length of the rounds, with galln pushing for eight rounds of three minutes, standard for professional boxing, while SBW would prefer 2.5 -minute rounds.
