John Feinstein – A long-time sports reporter and author- died at the age of 69 … according to his employer, the Washington Post.
John's brother – Robert – confirmed his death to the outlet on Thursday. His cause of death was not revealed.
Feinstein started his career in the post in 1977. He was the author of 48 books, 23 of which became a bestseller of the New York Times. One of his best-known pieces was “a season on the edge”, which the men's basketball team at Indiana University in 1985/86 under the direction of Herren-Basketball teams from 1985/86 under the direction Bob Knight.
In 2013 … the Basketball Hall of Fame awarded him the Curt Gowdy Award, which is awarded to recipients for “outstanding contributions to basketball”.
He had a column published Thursday morning with the post … that was about head coach of the US state of Michigan Tom Izzo.
Many media members have gone to social media together with the readers of his work to comment on his death.
He was 69.
