As the 2025 formula one season roars the action, so does the undisputed king of the network walk, Martin Brundle.
The old F1 F1 transmission icon can have an OBE in its name, a successful career of races under its credit and multiple RTS awards by Punditry, but for a whole generation of fans, it is better known for its meetings of celebrities prior to the race without script and brilliant.
Brundle himself admits that it is “annoying” that many know him more for being ignored on live television than for his automobile achievements.
But the 65 -year -old man also knows that his meaningless approach for interviews, whether charming, shameless or frankly challenging, has made him a viral phenomenon.
“The only thing that excites me as the races is the net walk,” he recently told Mail Sport. And, as history has shown, when Brundle enters the initial network, anything can happen.
With that in mind, we relieved five unforgettable moments of walking of the network when Martin Brundle spoke for all of us.

1. Kylian Mbappe, 2024
If there is something that Brundle refuses to do, he is back to the security guards. That was demonstrated once again in the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix when he tried to interview Kylian Mbappe, only to be blocked by a too enthusiastic member of the footballer's entourage. But Brundle didn't have it.
“It's fine, friend, I'm in charge here,” he told the security officer, who spent him with the confidence of a man who has been doing this for almost 30 years.
Mbappe, who had just announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, seemed hesitant but played. Brundle, always fast on his feet, joked: “I think you are quick enough to overcome these cars to the first corner.”
The World Cup winner smiled and replied: 'No, no, I'm not faster than cars. I just want to be here as a fan and enjoy the moment.
Brundle, with his dry brand recorded, ended the conversation with a farewell photo in the bodyguard: “Thank you for talking to us, and your dear friend there.”
The Internet loved it. Fans called him 'Brundle at his best', and a user X even joked, 'a true legend of the game. And Kylian Mbappe.

2. Christian Horner, 2014
While most of the Brundle Network Links come with celebrities, sometimes even F1 experts are trapped in crossfire. Ask Christian Horner.
During the 2014 Singapore Grand Prix, the director of the Red Bull team tried to have fun at Brundle's expense, joking: “It is a shame that you are too old to have really driven here, I would have liked it.”
Brundle barely hesitated before delivering a overwhelming return: 'I am too old to have driven here. What a shame you were not quick enough to enter formula one!
Horner could do little more to nod and laugh nervously. The supreme of F1 Bernie Ecclestone, standing close, seemed positively delighted.
For Brundle, the comment was a strong reminder that, although he may have left the network as a pilot, his own in sport still remained, winning 98 race points between 1984 and 1996.
For Horner, well … it was a lesson for why you should never try to mock Brundle on live television.

3. Megan Thee Stallion, 2021
Brundle's now legendary confrontation with Megan Thee Stallion in the US Grand Prix. 2021 is the moment that led to the infamous 'Brundle clause', a rule that indicates that celebrities in the F1 grid must be open to interviews.
He began innocently, with Brundle approaching the rapper for a quick word.
At first, it seemed like a game, smiling and laughing at his initial question, which for justice was a bit shudder: “You are a free -style rapper, do you have any rap for us today in Formula one?”
She answered that question politely: 'haha! I don't have rap today, I'm sorry.
But when Brundle tried to deliver a monitoring question about the next race, a member of his entourage intervened physically between them and declared: “You can't do that.”
Brundle's response was immediate and iconic: “I can do that, because I did.”
Social networks exploded. Some shrunk, others encouraged, but one thing was clear: Brundle was not going to be pushed on his own grass.
Even now, he remembers it with a mixture of fun and struggle: “Everything I am going to remember is ignored in the grid.”

4. FACE DELEVINGNE, 2023
By 2023, the Brundle vs Celebries saga had become a recurring F1 sub -brain. Cara Delevingne enters.
In the British Grand Prix, Brundle approached the supermodel for a quick conversation, just to meet a firm and repeated 'no'.
When he pointed out that “the treatment is that everyone talks on the network,” she shrugged and replied: “I can't hear anything, I'm sorry.”
Brundle, immutation, delivered a farewell shot that dripped with sarcasm: “It's fine, I'm sure it would have been extremely interesting.”
Online fans were divided. Some criticized Delevingne for their perceived rudeness, while others defended their right to reject an interview.
In any case, Brundle's rapid ingenuity and unwavering commitment to obtain a sound sound made for another unforgettable time of the network walk.

5. Machine Gun Kelly, 2023
Sometimes Brundle will not be disregarded, it simply gets … something completely strange.
That was the case in the Brazilian Grand Prix of 2023, when he found himself locked in a completely surreal exchange with Machine Gun Kelly.
From the beginning, it was clear that MGK was humorous. He to played with the Brundle poppy pin, declared that he does not think about his career, and then, in what can only be described as an experience outside the body, he insisted on collaborating with his interviewer in an performance of 'Air Guitar and Air Piano'.
Brundle, visibly baffled, politely rejected. “There are millions looking,” he explained. MGK was not impressed.
'No, I can't. I learned the piano once and learned c middle c and that was all, '' Brundle added, clearly looking for an escape.
Finally, MGK gave him a thumb down and left, leaving Brundle shaking his head and murmuring: “Something tells me that I will not be on his Christmas card list this year.”

More Brundle chaos in 2025?
While Brundle prepares for another live and without script season, it remains to be seen who will be the next one to be 'Brundled'.
You can joke about your network walks being 'a means for an end' to obtain real racing interviews, but deep down, it thrives with unpredictability.
“The only thing that excites me as the races is the net walk,” he told Mail Sport.
While F1 goes to Melbourne for the first game of the season, one thing is safe: what happens on the track, Brundle's Grid Walk will be the true essential event.
