- Ineos by Jim Ratcliffe bought a minority participation in Man United in February 2024
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has revealed that he would not have replaced the legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, with David Moyes, if he had owned 12 years ago.
In 2013, Ferguson provided United a farewell gift of its 20th English League title, and its 13th, before riding at sunset after 26 years of service.
Moyes then took the reigns, with the approval of the management legend, and many United supporters considered it “chosen.”
However, the Scot only lasts 10 months on paper before being fired by the Glazer family before the end of the 2013-14 season, after a real fall of Grace for United.
The Red Devils have failed to have the Premier League trophy in their hands. 11 years later, the club is in free fall and looks at the possibility of getting lost in Europe, much less fighting for titles.
And current co -owner Ratcliffe has told the Times That the decision to appoint Moyes was not correct, and that it would not have happened under his surveillance.

“Look, I like David Moyes, and I think he is a very good manager, but going from Sir Alex Ferguson to Moyes is not where I would have gone,” said Ratcliffe.
'Moyes entered Ferguson's shoes, who won the Premier League 13 times, who won the Champions League twice and then you are delivering to a guy who has never achieved great players and had never won anything. He does not necessarily have the personality to stand in front of everyone.
'And I don't think Real Madrid had made that decision as a coach. If you look at the coaches, a club cannot always do it well, but they should have found the best executive director in the world and the best coach in the world, because Manchester United is the best club in the world. Instead, they were wrong in both decisions.
'Then, in my opinion, we have a very professional association with the Glazer family. But have you met them? They are really honest, direct, not what you expect when you read them in the press.
'And they are (Avram and Joel) passionate about Manchester United. I like them as people: to be honest, they could have given us a bloody moment, could they not love Dan Ashworth and Erik Ten Hag? I could have done it, but I didn't. '
