Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was sidelined during Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders due to a concussion.
The injury occurred early in the first quarter when Hurts’ head hit the ground hard after a run, followed by a helmet-to-helmet hit from Frankie Luvu. Afterward, Hurts headed to the medical tent on the sideline, with Kenny Pickett stepping in as quarterback.
Although Hurts attempted to rejoin the game by putting his helmet back on, he was redirected back to the medical tent and eventually escorted to the locker room. During his absence, Pickett threw a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown but also an interception. Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley added two rushing touchdowns, helping the Eagles secure a 21-7 lead before the first quarter ended.
Before his departure, Hurts completed 1 of 4 passes for 11 yards and rushed for 41 yards. He had been instrumental in the team’s franchise-record 10-game winning streak leading into the game.
