Randi Mahomes, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick, has posted a concerning update on the health of her father, Randy.
She shared a photo of the two together on her Instagram Story with the caption: “Please pray for my father.”
It comes three months after she shared a photo of her daughter Mia sitting next to a hospital bed while Patrick's grandfather lay in front of the TV, appearing to watch Mahomes and the Chiefs against the Los Angeles Chargers.
“Prayer warriors, please pray for my dad,” she wrote on September 13. “He's in the hospital and he's not feeling well.”
She has never said exactly what her health problems are. But it comes at a time when Patrick and his wife Brittany are preparing to welcome the birth of their third child: a second daughter.
Speaking this week around the Chiefs' Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Patrick said Brittany is due to give birth imminently.

Earlier this year, Randi shared a photo of her watching the Chiefs with her sick father.
“Any day now,” he said. 'Brittany says I've been stressing her out too much this season, so I have to try not to stress her out too much during these football games.
“Hopefully God works the right way and we can have that baby in the bye week somewhere, and then everything will work out perfectly.”
The Chiefs beat the Steelers 29-10 on Christmas, clinching their spot as first in the AFC and meaning they skipped the wild-card round that Mahomes referred to as a bye week.
Mahomes will likely have a lot of free time between now and his next game with the Chiefs.
Kansas City is unlikely to take a chance on Jan. 5 against the Denver Broncos with nothing left to win in the final game of the regular season.
And the playoff bye means Mahomes and his Chiefs team will return to action on January 18 or 19.
