Donald Trump's heaped praise on the delay Jimmy Carter …said he had done his best to improve the lives of his fellow Americans – and the country owed him something.
The president-elect posted on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday … just about an hour after the Carter Center announced the former president had done so deceased at 100.
In his message, Trump writes that everyone who has been president knows that it is a very exclusive club… and that only members within its ranks can understand the responsibility of leading the country.
DJT says JC faced numerous problems as president… and he did everything he could to “improve the lives of all Americans. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for that.”
Trump says he and his wife Melania are thinking of the Carter family during this difficult time… and asking his followers to keep them in their prayers.
It's a stark change in the relationship between Trump and Carter when he was alive… just two months ago Carter's 100th birthdayTrump shouted Joe Biden the worst president ever — before saying Jimmy was “the luckiest man because Carter is considered a brilliant president by comparison.”
Carter died Sunday evening surrounded by his family after spending nearly two years in hospice care. His wife, Rosalynn Carter, died last year at the age of 96.
Tributes to Carter are pouring in from across the political world … including from President Joe Biden, who called him an “extraordinary leader” and former president Barack Obama who wrote that Jimmy taught the world “what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice and service.”
It seems that Jimmy brings people together from all parts of the political spectrum.
