Tommy Fury's replacement for the Misfits Boxing show on January 18 has been revealed.

Fury had been scheduled to face Darren Till, but a new opponent had to be found.

Just weeks after the fight was announced, Fury was left furious by comments made by Till during a press conference.

Till, who has primarily fought in the UFC, threatened to kick Fury in the head if he lost.

Fury subsequently announced that he was withdrawing from the fight and expressed concern that Till “resorted to kicks and other stupid MMA tactics.”

Despite the controversy surrounding his retirement, it is possible that another fight could be arranged for Fury.

It has been revealed that Fury will now face Anthony Taylor.

Taylor lost a unanimous decision to Fury in 2021, but was victorious against Eric Ericsson in Miami in August.

Other fights on the latest Misfits card include Tyson Fury's training partner Ty Mitchell returning to professional boxing against white-collar fighter Tommy Hench.

Additionally, Wade Plemons will face The Masai Warrior, while Carla Jade and Melanie Shah will be in contention for the MFB Women's Lightweight Championship.

Sami Hamed will fight Ziggi Johnson, Beavo will face Demetri Dionysus, Adam Brooks will face Gavinio and BBCC Gareth will fight Kak Hatt.

Misfits co-president Mams Taylor revealed that a replacement opponent for Fury is currently being worked on.

'Tommy Fury retired. Tommy wanted a replacement opponent and to be honest we'll see what happens,” Taylor said. Fred talks about fighting.

'We're talking to Tommy and his team and Big John, and seeing what we can work out. I'm not going to take Darren Till off that card, and I never was going to, because, in my opinion, he didn't do anything wrong. He was promoting the fight.

“I think it's a big shame, because a lot of people wanted to see that fight.”

He continued: 'I don't think the reasoning is really acceptable, you know, considering Tommy did the same thing.

'(He) joked about elbowing KSI and that kind of stuff, it's part of the promotion and it's a fight that people wanted to see. I think Darren is a legitimate threat as well. And I think he's a tough, tough guy. He is a great character. Let's see what happens.'

Fury won his last fight by majority decision defeating KSI in October 2023.
