Manchester United junior star Amad Diallo has apologized to fans in a heartbroken social media post after a “very difficult year” for the club.
Many fans would say Diallo, 22, has been one of the few bright sparks in a torrid season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. In fact, she received an avalanche of supportive comments under her post.
He has been a regular starter under Ruben Amorim and has already carved out a place for himself in club folklore after scoring a sublime 90th-minute winner against Manchester City.
However, the youngster has taken it upon himself to apologize for a year in which United fell to 14th in the Premier League after finishing eighth last season, a record low.
He accompanied the publication with a black and white photo of him with his head in his hands.
“A very difficult year, apologizing is not enough,” he began in X.

The 22-year-old has been a bright spot in a stormy season and thanks the fans for their support.
“But you have supported us and continued to do so throughout this time… thank you.”
United signed Diallo as an 18-year-old for £37m from Atalanta in 2021 and it took him a while to really make his mark with the Red Devils.
After making his debut in February 2021, he was loaned out to Rangers and Sunderland and only had one snap last season, when he began to emerge as an impact player.
Scoring the 121st-minute winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals in March helped endear him to fans and he has gone from strength to strength this season.
He has perhaps benefited more than any other star since Amorim's arrival.
United's switch to a 3-4-3 formation has transformed the Ivory Coast international into a right-back and he has starred in the new position receiving praise from his boss, team-mates and pundits alike.
“Let's say maybe it's confidence because I'm playing a lot of games now,” he told Sky Sports. 'The way I am now, I've always been like that, but maybe the playing time and the confidence.

“But now I am happy to play more games and I just want to fight for the club, for the team, every time the coach gives me confidence and gives me the opportunity to play for this club, I just want to show that I can play for this club.
