Chanel Maya Banks is trying to revive a failed acting career, and she's creating a drama with her family to do it… or so says a private detective her family members have hired to find her.
Private detective Sonny Elliott tells TMZ … Chanel's mother, Lutchmin Judy Kumartasked him with finding her daughter – and he believes her love and concern for Chanel was completely sincere.
Elliott says unless Judy and Chanel's cousin Danielle are the greatest actors in the world, then this is clearly a woman “trying to salvage an acting career that ended during the Obama administration.”
Sonny says Chanel has blocked Judy and Danielle on her phone and social media – so the family has no way of harassing them, as she recently claimed Filing a preliminary injunction.
Elliott told us why Chanel went to Texas too, by the way… and said she originally went there to write about a religious cult and then somehow got sucked into it. For her part, Chanel claimed that she originally went to Texas to be baptized by her favorite pastor.
Sonny claims her family hired him because they loved her and were worried about her… and Chanel's reaction suggests to him that it was a publicity stunt.
By the way, we spoke to Danielle… who says: “This is all for the last 15 minutes of fame and we now believe she wants publicity, perhaps in the hopes of attracting more people to the 'church' or high control group, too known as a cult.”
We broke the story… Chanel filed for a restraining order against Judy and Danielle last week – but a court declined to issue a restraining order in the case based on the “unsubstantiated allegations.”
In her first filing, Chanel claimed her mother and cousin threatened her husband, stole items from their home and have continued to harass her ever since. A hearing for Chanel to present her case to a judge is scheduled for January 16.
We have contacted Chanel…no response yet.
