West Ham have visited Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, 21, on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Northern Ireland international has also attracted interest from Leicester City, while he was scouted by Atalanta last month.
Charles, 21, joined Southampton from Manchester City last year in a deal worth £12million.
The Citizens' academy has raised tens of millions in recent years, with Southampton one of the biggest buyers. Samuel Edozie, Gavin Bazanu, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Romeo Lavia joined Charles on the south coast.
After making one Premier League appearance for Man City in the 2022/23 season, Charles made 32 Championship appearances for Saints following his move to St Mary's.
Then-Southampton manager Russell Martin invested heavily in the summer following his return to the Premier League, opening the door for Charles to pursue more first-team football.
Capped 23 times by Northern Ireland, Charles has contributed four assists and a goal this season as Sheffield Wednesday sit just three points adrift of the second division playoffs.
That form has attracted some top clubs to give him another chance at the highest level.

Southampton have a lot of work to do if they want to stay at that higher level. Having won once in 19 games, they have just six points and are currently 10 points away from safety at the start of 2025.
Aware of the transfer speculation surrounding Charles, Owls boss Danny Rohl told BBC Radio Sheffield: “He's a young, high-potential player – the pity is he's not our player.”
