Boise State player Roger Carreon suffered an embarrassing moment before his game against Penn State after falling on his face while running with the American flag.
After being chosen as one of two Broncos flag bearers for the Fiesta Bowl, Carreon went viral for all the wrong reasons when he lost his balance on the field at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
ESPN cameras captured the offensive lineman falling directly onto his forehead after apparently getting his left foot stuck awkwardly in the ground, with two teammates in front who were blissfully unaware of his mishap.
Fortunately, Carreon did not suffer any injuries despite apparently spraining his ankle, meaning he was still able to line up for his school on New Year's Eve.
And fans certainly saw the funny side on social media.
One wrote: 'Dude kicked his foot dammit!'

Carreon, a redshirt sophomore, was a three-star recruit out of Jal High School in New Mexico.
“That's a bad trick for the game,” said another.
A third joked: “He was so excited to wear Old Glory that he tripped.”
While a fourth said simply: “The Internet lives forever!”
As one fan predicted, Carreon's unfortunate mistake portended a miserable night for Boise State.
Drew Allar threw three touchdown passes and Penn State came away with a 31-14 victory that night, earning a spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
They will play either No. 2 Georgia or No. 3 Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 9.
