Dani Olmo appears to have taken the uncertainty over his future at Barcelona in his stride as the Spain international shared a cheeky message to usher in the New Year.
Olmo only joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig in the summer in a £50m deal, but was only able to register on a temporary deal until the end of 2024 due to LaLiga's current financial constraints for Barcelona.
The Catalans had been trying to re-register the attacking midfielder so that he can play for them beyond December 31, while they were also looking to extend the registration of his teammate Pau Víctor.
LaLiga issued a statement on Tuesday night confirming that they had rejected Barcelona's proposal to register Olmo, leaving the star's future uncertain.
LaLiga wrote: “FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative that, in compliance with LaLiga's economic control regulations, would allow it to register any player after January 2.”
Olmo, who has been linked with a possible move to the Premier League, appeared to give an indication of where he sees his future by sharing photos of his New Year's celebrations on social media.

Olmo seemed to make reference to his future, with blaugrana emojis in his publication
The 26-year-old shared photos with the caption 'It's time for 2025', with the message ending with blue and heart emojis, an apparent reference to Barcelona's Blaugrana colours.
Olmo was seen posing with his influencer girlfriend Laura Abla Schmitt and friends in the photos welcoming 2025.
The post appeared to be made due to comments from Olmo's agent, Andy Bara, about the star's future.
Barça, who sparked rumors last week when he arrived in Manchester, told Fabrizio Romano: “The decision Dani made is to STAY at Barcelona because he wants to play for Barça.
'We are NOT considering any other options. “Dani wants to play for Barcelona.”
As things stand, Olmo will not be registered for Barcelona's first match of the New Year on January 4 against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey.
Having been rejected, Olmo is not eligible according to point 5 of article 141 of the league regulations, “footballers whose license is canceled will not be able, during the same season, to obtain a license from the same team of the club to which they belong.” they were previously linked.'
It means Olmo can leave as a free agent in January if the Spanish football federation continues to block his registration while they push for the Catalan giants to make more cuts, earn more revenue and meet their financial guidelines.

The statement read: 'FC Barcelona informs that it has requested a new license from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Víctor.
'Furthermore, the Club wishes to deny that it has requested or received any moratorium from any other body for the requested registration.'
According to Mundo Deportivo, RFEF sources have stated that the federation cannot process any license without the approval of LaLiga, in another potential blow to Barcelona.
