Luke Littler beat number 8 seed Stephen Bunting 6-1 to set up a delightful final at Alexandra Palace with Michael van Gerwen.
The Nuke took a 4-0 lead against a struggling Bullet, who after a close opening fell in the third and fourth sets, but recovered to take the fifth and avoid a whitewash.
Littler then put a huge nail in the coffin of Bunting's tournament by turning around the sixth set and taking a 5-1 lead, before sealing it in the seventh.
By early afternoon, Van Gerwen had beaten Chris Dobey by the same score and qualified for the grand final.
Although a date with Van Gerwen is the toughest task he could have hoped for in Friday night's main show, Littler was clearly ready for battle.
'It's been an incredible tournament so far. People will say I was looking at the title the whole tournament, but I was looking at the first game against Ryan Meikle, and from then on I just have to beat what's in front of me. “I'm very happy to win tonight,” he said after Thursday's exciting performance.
Luke Littler demolishes Stephen Bunting to reach World Darts Championship final
A typically raucous Alexandra Palace enjoyed the festivities as teenager Littler reached his second successive final.
The pre-tournament favorite will face Dutch maestro Michael van Gerwen on Friday night.
“I played much better and won many titles before this, but that's what we do, we prepare for the big title.” There are majors all year round but I can't wait for tomorrow night.
“If we (Littler and Van Gerwen) come out like we did tonight, (the final) will be really good.” As soon as Luke Humphries came out, that's what everyone was looking at. I just had to focus on the quarter-final and semi-final, and now that I've done that I can focus on Michael tomorrow.
“We all know he's looking for that world title, but I'm looking for the first one.” Same as last night: go home, relax, and come back tomorrow.
