A documentary about Wayne Rooney's managerial career was reportedly scrapped after he was sacked as manager of Plymouth Argyle.
Plymouth parted ways with Rooney by mutual agreement on New Year's Eve after a run of nine games without a win.
The results left the club bottom of the Championship table, and Rooney had only managed four league wins.
Plymouth had agreed that filming of a behind-the-scenes documentary about Rooney's time at the club would begin in October.
The club had been looking to follow the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Sunderland and Wrexham by making a windfall with a documentary.
The expectation was that the documentary would air in the summer.

The creators of 'The Real Wagatha Story' were behind the documentary project in Plymouth.
Plymouth have reportedly abandoned plans following the decision to part ways with Rooney, according to the guardian.
The Championship team had allowed filming to take place at the club's training ground at Harpers Park, which began in October.
Footage was also filmed during Plymouth's home win over Portsmouth and the draw at Derby.
Plymouth reportedly told the filmmakers to take a break last month amid concerns that the documentary was becoming a distraction amid the club's winless run, with the string of results ultimately leading to Rooney's departure.
The documentary was made by Lorton Entertainment, who also produced The Real Wagatha Story, which delved into the highly publicized legal battle between Rooney's wife Coleen and Rebekah Vardy.
The producer also participated in the 2022 show about Rooney's career that aired on Amazon Prime.
According to The Guardian, Rooney and his advisors were the driving force behind the latest documentary project, with Plymouth initially giving the project the green light.
Former England and Manchester United legend Rooney was in the job for seven months and eyebrows were raised when he was appointed as his catastrophic tenure at Birmingham saw the Second City club relegated to League One.
Rooney left Plymouth on New Year's Eve after presiding over a nine-game winless streak.
Filming of the documentary had reportedly been stopped because the club feared it would be a “distraction”.
In a statement he thanked the club for giving him the job in May, stating that Argyle will always have “a special place in my heart” and that he and the fans will have “memories that we will share forever.”
Mail Sport revealed that Plymouth director of football Neil Dewsnip will follow Rooney in leaving the Devon club.
Dewsnip has been at the club since 2019 and was an integral member of their promotion from League Two to the Championship.
Plymouth picked up a point in their first game since Rooney's departure, with first-team coach Kevin Nancekivell and club captain Joe Edwards overseeing a 2-2 draw against Bristol City on New Year's Day.
