- The Gunners were without the services of Bukayo Saka due to injury

Mikel Arteta said signing a player in January is not necessarily enough for Arsenal to win the Premier League title.
In light of Bukayo Saka's injury, there has been a lot of clamor over whether the Gunners should bring in a new addition, either permanently or on loan, to beat Liverpool and win the title.
He said: “Signing someone is not enough, that's for sure because that signing has to score, how many goals?”
“It has to be many things: signing and then scoring 20 goals between now and the end and do you have more chances?”
“Maybe so, I don't know, but I'm very happy with the players we have and also with the number of goals we've scored.” “It's more than enough to win a Premier League, our numbers too, but the reality is that someone is doing more, so we have to be better, that's life.”
When asked about the feasibility of a January signing, Arteta added: “I don't know because the focus is on the players we have.” If there is something stronger on the market that we can afford and we believe that it is going to have a real impact on the team, we always have to be open to that possibility because we would have the ability to improve the team in the windows.
Mikel Arteta has stressed that Arsenal cannot rely on new signings to boost their title chances
After losing Bukayo Saka to injury in December, there was speculation that the Gunners would recruit during the January transfer window.
“But at the moment the focus is on what we have.”
Arteta confirmed that Raheem Sterling has returned to training and could be in contention for the team within two weeks.
