Liverpool fans have demanded the club's owners do everything in their power to convince Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold to sign new contracts after placing a banner at Anfield before kick-off against Manchester United.

The trio have starred in Liverpool's rise to the top of the Premier League table as Arne Slot attempts to lead the club to a magical top-flight title during his first season at the club.

However, there are growing concerns that this could be their last season at the club as each star enters the final months of their respective contracts and extensions are yet to be agreed.

Notably, Salah has recently stated that he expects to leave Liverpool at the end of the season without “any progress” on a contract extension.

Salah, 32, is the top-flight's top scorer with 17 goals this campaign, but after entering the final six months of his lucrative contract, his future remains uncertain.

He can now sign a pre-contract to join a foreign club in the summer, as can Alexander-Arnold, wanted by Real Madrid, and club captain Van Dijk.

Many Liverpool fans believe the trio are refusing to extend their stay at Anfield due to the higher wages they are offered and a banner tells FSG owners to “cough”.

A banner placed among the Anfield crowd on Sunday afternoon showed the faces of the three players along with the legend: “FSG Give your money to Mo & Co.”

Liverpool fans who reacted to the banner online praised those inside the ground for taking a stance against the club's ownership with an X post saying: “Fans make it clear: pay Salah and the team that they deserve.”

Another added similarly: “The fans are making their voices heard on the Kop… The message is clear: FSG, give Mo and the team what they deserve.”

However, one commentator was not happy with the demonstration and posted online: 'Idiot banner How do you know for example that Salah doesn't want a 3 year contract for £1m a week!? And the other two are similar.

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold's future appears under the most intense scrutiny given he is still only 26 and brought up in the club's academy before winning every honor available.

Madrid, who are heavily linked with signing Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer at the end of the season, made a £20m bid for the England right-back in a bid to lure him to the Bernabeu in January, something that was quickly rejected by Liverpool.

The reigning Champions League winners believe they will be able to secure the services of Alexander-Arnold and the Liverpool star's close friendship with Jude Bellingham could help convince him.

If Alexander-Arnold were to leave the club for free at the end of the season, the England international would receive a huge signing bonus from Madrid as a free agent.
