Nicki Minaj won't be arrested on assault allegations made by her former manager – at least not yet… TMZ has learned that the police's requested arrest warrant has been denied.
A spokesperson for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office told TMZ that it reviewed the Detroit Police Department's arrest warrant application but decided to deny it because there was “insufficient evidence” that a crime was committed.
However, the prosecution adds that it has asked the police to investigate the matter further.
As we reported, Minaj was accused of getting into a fight with the former manager Brandon Garrett in a recent civil lawsuit…but it looks like prosecutors didn't think there was enough evidence of a crime to move forward with a trial Arrest warrant …at least not without further investigation.
TMZ broke the story … Garrett claims the rapper was aggressive with him during a tour in Detroit in April 2024 … and claims NM flew into a rage over a situation regarding her personal recipes.
BG says the rap star threatened his life, punched him in the face and slapped his wrist…that's why he is sued her for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
However, Minaj's lawyer has since described the lawsuit as “completely false and frivolous.”
We've reached out to Minaj's reps and the Detroit Police Department for further comment…no response yet.
