Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Charles Snowden He appeared so distraught during his drunken driving arrest last month that police video shows an officer actually thought the football player was “too drunk to even stand.”
Snowden's run-in with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department occurred at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 in Sin City … after police said they found him passed out behind the wheel of his running Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Bodycam footage captured by TMZ Sportsshows that the SUV was actually rocking on a retaining wall… and despite multiple attempts to wake him up and get him to turn off the car, the video shows that Snowden wouldn't budge.
After several minutes of knocking and screaming, Snowden finally listened to the officers, parked his car and got out. But look at the video – he seemed to have no idea what was going on.
He seemed to be slurring his words…and at some points it looked like he was falling asleep on the hood of a patrol car.
“We have to put him in the car,” a police officer said, “because he’s too drunk to even stand.”
Paramedics eventually arrived on scene – and Snowden, wearing a Santa hat with the Raiders' team logo, initially told one of them that he thought he was in Florida.
“Try again,” the paramedic said.
Snowden was eventually transported to a hospital – but just before he was taken away, a police officer could be heard in the bodycam footage saying: “Yes, he smells of alcohol.”
Court records show Snowden has been charged with misdemeanor drunken driving in connection with the incident … and he is scheduled to appear before a judge in the case in April.
The 26-year-old – who has started nine games for Vegas this season – has not yet publicly commented on the matter.
