Liverpool endured a travel nightmare as they attempted to return to base after their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Arne Slot's side suffered a rare defeat in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg as a controversial Lucas Bergvall goal secured victory for the hosts.
The Reds boss will have plenty to reflect on after the game and it looks like he will have plenty of time to do so after his trip back to Merseyside was cut short by the weather.
According The AthleticAfter the match, the team's return flight from London Stansted was unable to land at John Lennon Airport due to freezing fog and was forced to divert to Birmingham.
From there, they took a team bus back to Liverpool, but did not arrive until the early hours of the morning and training was therefore cancelled.
The Reds will look to bounce back from the defeat when they return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.

Arne Slot's team had not suffered a defeat since September before the Spurs defeat and will hope to win again in their next qualifiers.
Slot was infuriated when Bergvall escaped a second yellow card and scored Tottenham's winning goal in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
Reds boss Slot fumed on the touchline when Bergvall, already booked, brought down Kostas Tsimikas in the build-up to the goal, but escaped further punishment.
“I don't think there's any debate about it,” Slot said. “I think I saw Ange sitting here on Saturday and Spurs were not happy with some decisions.
'One went against them, tonight maybe one went for them.
'The decisions have been made, they cannot be changed. When he didn't show the second yellow card, no one thought it would have such a big impact 30 seconds later.
“I'm 99.9 percent sure I wasn't the only one who didn't feel good when he came in. For him (the referee) it wasn't ideal either.”
Before Bergvall's controversial intervention, the two teams had played a close match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and it looked like it would end goalless after Dominic Solanke had a goal ruled out for offside midway through the second half.
However, in the 86th minute, Bergvall finished superbly after good work from the tireless Solanke to score his first goal for Spurs.

Bergvall was lucky to escape a second booking shortly before scoring the winning goal.
Reds captain Virgil van Dijk also took out his anger on the referees after the match and claimed they needed to do better.
“I think it was pretty obvious that there was going to be a second yellow card (for Lucas Bergvall),” he added.
“I think it was pretty clear. It was a coincidence and a minute later he scored the winning goal.
'It is what it is. He (the referee) made a mistake in my opinion and I told him so. He thinks not, but I think it was pretty obvious and everyone on the sidelines knew it was supposed to be a yellow card.
“There's a linesman there, a fourth official, there's VAR, a referee and he doesn't get a second yellow card. I'm not saying this is the reason we lost tonight, but it was a great moment in the game.”
