Alec Baldwin is not on trial for the fatal shooting Halyna Hutchins more, but he's clearly still upset about being prosecuted for the Rust shooting… because he's now suing the prosecutors and investigators involved in his case.
The actor filed a lawsuit in New Mexico on Thursday … alleging that prosecutors and investigators engaged in malicious prosecution, abuse of process, intentional expropriation of evidence and violation of his civil rights.
Baldwin's co-plaintiffs have been fixated on convicting Baldwin regardless of the merits of the case…pointing to the shocking dismissal of the case in July to prove that prosecutors acted improperly.
As he files this civil lawsuit seeking damages, his attorneys say no ruling in this case can ever undo the “trauma” caused by the state's threat of incarceration.
Baldwin appointed special prosecutor Kari MorrisseySanta Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack Altwies and Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office investigators as defendants in the lawsuit.
As you know… Baldwin was holding a gun on the set of Rust in 2021 and it went off killed Hutchins – the film’s cinematographer.
