West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady believes Graham Potter is the man who will bring more trophies to the club.
Potter settled in at the London Stadium this week after the Hammers sacked Julen Lopetegui, ending a nearly two-year absence from the game following his departure from Chelsea.
Brady says Potter is the right person to follow in David Moyes' footsteps and win trophies for the club, having lifted the Europa Conference League in 2023.
“We believe there are the right foundations for further success in the future at West Ham United,” he told The Sun.
“Just 18 months ago we enjoyed European glory and, although that night in Prague will never be forgotten, there is a genuine and fierce hunger at this club to ensure we continue to work as hard as possible to build and create more exceptional memories.
“That is why we did not hesitate to offer him a two-and-a-half-year contract, and why we firmly believe that we have appointed not only a good man, but also the right man for West Ham United.”

The former Chelsea boss replaced Julen Lopetegui as West Ham manager earlier this week.
In his first game, his team suffered a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Friday night.
The decision to sack former Spain and Real Madrid coach Lopetegui, who was only appointed in the summer and given plenty of money to spend, came after a disappointing start to the season.
“At West Ham United, we have always taken as much care and pride in recruiting the 'man' as we have the 'coach',” Brady added.
“And that's why we were disappointed that things didn't work out with Julen Lopetegui.
“In all my years in football, making the decision to part ways with a manager has never been an easy, straightforward or pleasant task.”
Although Potter has been backed to win trophies, it won't be this season's FA Cup after they lost their third round tie at Aston Villa on Friday night.
Lucas Paqueta put the visitors ahead after just nine minutes of Potter's reign, but second-half goals from Amadou Onana and Morgan Rogers put Unai Emery's men through.
Villa were able to win just a second FA Cup game in nine years, despite the absence of goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who was sidelined by injury.
Midfielder Ross Barkley also suffered a calf problem and is expected to be out for several weeks.

'I was hurt. “It's a small injury,” Emery said of Martínez.
“He wasn't 100 percent ready to play. We decided to play Robin Olsen. I think he will play the next game, but we will have to control him more.
'Barkley had a small calf injury, hopefully not too much. “We will review it tomorrow, but usually within two or three weeks.”
