Bournemouth star Max Aarons heads to the Spanish giants ahead of sealing a loan deal following interest from across Europe in the former Norwich right-back.

Mail Sport revealed this week that the former England U21 international would be allowed to leave amid interest from foreign clubs, including LaLiga contenders Valencia.

Talks have accelerated throughout the week with the former Norwich star now traveling to southern Spain to seal the deal.

The full-back, who joined the Cherries in 2023, has seen his first-team opportunities limited under Andoni Iraola this season, making just three appearances so far, including just one start.

And the Premier League club are willing to let the right-back leave the club during the January window.

Clubs from France, Italy and Spain had expressed initial interest in the 25-year-old. Ligue 1 side Lille were also among the interested teams.

Aarons arrived from Norwich in 2023 with a reputation as one of the best emerging full-backs in English football.

But his career has stalled on the south coast this season and moving away to secure more regular first-team football could benefit all parties.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have already had a busy January window, with Phillip Billing also leaving the Vitality Stadium, signing for Serie A giants Napoli.

The deal for the Danish midfielder is an official loan with an option to buy for around £8 million.
