Jason Oppenheim says LA landlords are screwing over Sunset instead of selling it… and calls them out for price gouging amid devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
The reality TV star sat down for an interview on BBC One's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg… and he talked about sending a client to an LA landlord who tried to overcharge him .
Oppenheim swears that this landlord originally tried to rent the apartment for $13,000 a month… but when his client offered $20,000 after the fires started, the landlord asked for $23,000 – a markup of almost 100% compared to the original claim.
Jason says, “California has price gouging laws, they are being ignored right now, and this is not the time to take advantage of situations.”

JO says everyone is crying over the devastation in LA…some because of the smoke from the fires and others because of the emotional toll this disaster has taken.
Officials in Los Angeles – including Sheriff Robert Luna and LA Police Chief Jim McDonnell – have warned citizens about potential fraudsters… and said tragedy can bring out the worst in humanity, so stay vigilant.
In total, the Los Angeles wildfires have burned more than 40,000 hectares of land and killed at least 16 people. Many in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, Malibu, West LA and around Pasadena in Northeast Los Angeles have lost their homes.
And it sounds like Jason is worried that they could lose a lot more unless someone steps in to get the price gouging under control.
