The Pacific Palisades wildfire tore apart much of the affluent West LA neighborhood forever… but it couldn't tear this owner and his dog apart – because the two found each other again on Sunday.
Here's the deal… Liz Kreutz — an NBC News correspondent covering the devastating L.A. fires — shared a clip Sunday morning showing a man by name Casey Colvin He returned to his block in Pacific Palisades to look for his dog.

Apparently someone discovered this dog – with a name Oreo – in the rubble and called Casey to the area… and the two enjoyed a tearful reunion.
This clip is a must-see for anyone feeling the toll of these fires…Casey is beside himself with joy – crying through tears as he holds his little furball in his arms.
According to Kreutz, Oreo has been sleeping in the rubble of a neighbor's house for five days. Casey left food and water near his home in hopes of helping Oreo survive…unclear whether the pup survived on this or hunted for himself.
The Palisades Fire has burned more than 23,000 acres of land and killed at least 16 people since it sparked last Tuesday… while at the same time separating pets from their owners and leaving many wild animals with nowhere to go.

All in all, it's a miracle that Oreo survived… and hopefully many more pets like him were able to survive this ordeal.
